Complete Website Management

One of the biggest challenges for me for running my own website is the shear number of tasks I need to do.  It can be very hard to keep track of everything and quite often I feel overwhelmed.  I mean, you need to know how to login to each site, where you have promoted it, and continuously checking whether or not the site is up or if there are problems with the hosting.

So, I have been doing some research into webmaster tools that would not only make my life easier, but be able to scale with the growth of my business.  This was a very important requirement for me as I hope to have about a dozen sites by the end of the year.

I was able to find a program called Atomic Watch that monitors website uptime and some reciprocal link management software to help me manage my marketing.

Hopefully, I will get to the point where I can afford to hire someone to take care of all the website management that I need - but that will have to wait until I have the budget to do so.

New Job, New Town

One of the biggest challenges that we faced when we decided to move was how I was going to find a new job.  You see, my wife was transferring within the company she worked for to Australia, but I didn’t have that option - I needed to figure out how I was going to find a job in Australia from half way around the world.

I quickly realized that trying to find any accounting jobs overseas would have been tough twenty years ago, before the Internet became popular.  Thankfully that is no longer the case, and the Internet can be used as an effective job search tool.

For me, the Internet proved to be a godsend, and I able to find a job easily.  I am just very thankful that such a great resource was available for me, and I recommend that all my friends do all their job searching online.

Focused on Healthy Food Choices

Some of my friends think that I am a bit weird, but I am just really focused on picking healthy choices.  I mean, I want to live for a long time, and if I eat well and properly, I should be able to make it to the ripe old age of one hundred.

That is a long ways away, but I need to take care of myself now.  That means that I take some of the latest discoveries when it comes to health foods.  I started out awhile ago by taking barley grass and I am now just starting chlorella and spirulina.

Even though I do make healthy choices when it comes to food, I haven’t made the best choices when it comes to exercise - that is my weakest area of all.  I will have to focus on it a little bit more if I hope to make it to the magic 100.  But with a bit of perseverance, I know I can do it!

What Should I Study?

I don’t know about you, but I had a hard decision to make when it came to my education after high school.  My parents didn’t have a lot of money, but they had been saving money for me to go to school since I was a baby.

So, I decided to look into what my career options were.  Sadly, there wasn’t a lot to pick from, but I eventually I decided that I wanted to specialize in landscaping designs as it was an area that interested me.

Even though I have loved to help my parents move their yard around a number of times, my weakest area was in lantana care.  I just couldn’t figure out the right amount of water to give it, and it always looked unhealthy.

But, I think that it will both be a great experience, but also a way for me to learn about landscaping design ideas.

Late Night Car Insurance Shopping

One of the things that I just love is that you can shop whenever you want online.  It can be regular business hours, or in the wee hours of the night and you can shop to your hearts content.  This is especially important when you work during regular business hours and would have to take time off work to visit a regular store.

A great example of this would be when I was shopping for classic car insurance.  I didn’t want to pay the top rate, but I wanted to ensure that my car was protected, even though it sits in my garage for most of the year.

I had heard so much about the types of cheap car insurance rate that you could get that I wanted to see if I could get the same rates for my old Mustang.  I looked on many cheap auto insurance websites to see what I could find and eventually got myself a great deal.

Did I mention that I did this at 3 AM?  Man, do I love the Internet!

Maximizing Business Profits by Minimizing Expenses

One of the goals of running my own business or any business for that matter is to keep the expenses to the minimum and the profits to the maximum.  Most of us are in it for the profit, and if we spend everything that we take in, well, what is the point of the business then?

So, in an effort to reduce my expenses, I have been trying to save money without sacrificing anything.  Now, that might sound almost impossible, but the real secret to take away here is that you just need to be a smarter shopper.

For example, if you have an online business, if you were to use domain name coupons and hosting coupons, you would still be able to have the same services, but at a reduced rate.

So, take a look at your business and see if there are opportunities to take advantage of the many coupons that are available.  That way, your business can be even more profitable without really doing any extra work.

Shopping for a Birthday Present

If you were to ask my friends about what they thought of the gifts that I buy them for their birthdays they would say that I buy great gifts.  The reason that I take extra care and time when picking out gifts for my friends is that is exactly how I expect to be treated - I would rather not receive a gift card for my birthday.

One of the most common gifts that I have been buying lately are unique cufflinks tailored to the person that I’m buying for.  Sure, I could just buy a common, off of the shelf cufflink, but that is not what I’m looking for.

For example, I bought Richard a nice set of gold cufflinks and I bought Wes a set of skull cufflinks which is appropriate for his love of motorcycles.

It’ll be interesting to see what my friends buy me for my birthday this year as I think that I’ve been training them to try a little harder to find something unique for me.

Career Choice

My dad has been a carpenter since I was a little kid. When I was born, he used to work at a lumber mill and when it closed down, he decided to become a journeyman carpenter. I always loved what he did and loved to work with my hands, and it has led me to work for commercial roofing Providence RI.

When I decided to become a roofer, I was not sure where I was going to work. I knew that I had wanted a change in my life, so I looked for a job out of state. I found that there was a very high demand for roofing Providence RI, and I thought that would make it a lot easier for me to make my way to the top.

I got a job with a flat roofing Providence RI company and absolutely loved it right form day one. I made a lot of friends and there is no other feeling like the one I get when I am working on a roof. It is like being on top of the world.

Debt Solutions

I was very young, but I still remember the turmoil that my family went through when my parents had to undergo poor credit debt consolidation. From that day on, I vowed to learn everything that I could about spending wisely and not going into more debt than I could afford.

I took a course on debt diet plans, as I was hoping that I would be able to help other families not to have to endure the process of having poor credit and eventually having to go bankrupt. It was my mission in life and I took it very seriously.

I now teach a class on how to reduce credit card debt before it gets to the point where the family is feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. Many people have thanked me for changing their lives and my dad has said that if someone had been there to talk to them about some of the solutions I discuss with my clients, maybe it would have saved them a ton of grief.
