I love to shop.  In fact, if I had an unlimited budget, I could shop all day.  Now, it isn’t the spending of money that gets me excited, but rather the opportunity to find a good deal.  I guess you could call me a bargain hunter.

This is in stark contrast to my wife who hates to shop.  I know that it sounds a little bit backwards, but that is just the way that our family is.  She makes the shopping list and sends me out to shop.

That is exactly where I found myself today, out shopping.  I had a little list including some groceries, baby gifts, and some toiletries.  I knew that it wasn’t going to take too long, so I made a point of getting it done quickly.

In fact, I was done before lunch, so that was my treat – going out to eat.  Well, I should get back to work – I have a lot left to do before the day is over.

When we were expecting our first child, we had no idea what was going on.  Honestly, we were quite freaked out and didn’t know what to expect, let alone what we were supposed to do.

But, we purchased a book down at the bookstore that was geared towards new parents like us.  There were many questions that we had, and we spent the time finding the answers together.

There was one question that we couldn’t find the answer for in the book, so we made an appointment with our doctor.  You see, my wife was used to getting a massage a couple of times per week, but we wanted to know if that was still an option during her pregnancy.

As it turns out, the doctor provided us with all the answers we needed with respect to massage and pregnancy.  Now we can make the right decisions that include the best interests of the baby.

With my child just about at her prom, I thought that I would make it a unique experience for her.  You see, when I had my prom, my parents didn’t have any money to make my prom special – in fact, I had to walk there myself.

So, I have been looking for a Limo Hire Kent company that would be able to provide us with a limousine for her big day.  I thought it would be a reasonably inexpensive way for us to give her the time of her life, while not spending a lot of money.

Looking at the limousine hire site, we found that we could rent Hummer limos for a very reasonable price.  Not only would her and her friends pull up to the prom in style, we would also know that she would have a safe ride home from her big night.  We won’t have to worry about her getting in the car with a drunk driver which makes us feel a lot better.

I know that sometimes I am a little slow to pick up on things, but I came across something that is pretty slick today.  You see, while looking at some mobile sites today on my cell phone, I came across a website that would let me make one of my own.

Now, I was a little worried that I would have to be some sort of coding expert to make it happen, but thankfully, that wasn’t going to be the case.  In fact, just from going through the tour, it looked like it was going to be a breeze.

One thing that had me a little excited is that they had a mobile community of people that are all doing these same things, and it was going to be a place where I could find some support if I had questions.

So, I signed up and I am in the process of creating my first site – I’ll let you all know when I get done.

From time to time I find myself down at the horse racing track.  I love the sport, and the thrill of those few minutes that the horses hooves are pounding on the track.  For the short time of each race, I feel alive.

But, what I like the most is to see who is betting on what horse.  Now, I know that everyone has some horse racing tips to share for free, but who would want free racing tips anyway?  We all know that you get what you pay for.

When I do put money down on a horse, I look for the local horse racing tipster, pay the man, and see what he has to say.  More often than not, he is right, and it is worth my investment to seek his advice.

I feel sorry for those people that leave it up to chance – they usually don’t win anything.  For myself though, I play to win.

As a blogger, it is my goal, no duty, to get the information out to my readers as fast as possible.  In fact, I could almost argue that the person that has the information out first, makes the most money.

So, for me to do that, I have to pay attention to the latest gadget news, and get it published before my competition.  Also, I want to offer my readers something unique, not found at the other sites.

So what I have been doing is trying out some of the new toys on the market and doing reviews on them.  A review usually consists of a write up, some pictures and a video or two.  This way, we are able to deliver a complete picture to our readers so that they know what they are getting into before they buy our products.

Is it worth it?

You bet.  If our income and traffic stats are any indication, people love what we offer.  So we will continue this service for years to come.

At this stage in life, especially having grown up in the sixties, there’s little that can shock me. –except when people behave unexpectedly. This happened to me recently at a graduation party out of town.

The student’s grandmother was a youngish woman, which is to say about my age… Ahem. Tanned, wiry, a bundle of energy, she was keeping food available to guests while watching a sporting event. She gave a big ”Whoop!" as the fight finished. It seems that so-and-so, a name I couldn’t spell if I tried, had just defeated the reigning champion of this MMA event.

She must have seen the blank look in my eye. "Mixed Martial Arts," she explained. "It’s big business." She plucked at her T-shirt. "I run an online shop that sells fight gear. And I’m fighting next week in a local competition."

See what I mean? An almost sixty-year-old woman competing in a martial arts combat competition? I admit it. I’m shocked. But, "Go Granny!"

My sister has owned a clothing boutique for several years. She offers some higher end unique designer clothing both from local and international designers. Recently, she has begun thinking of adding in lingerie and even talked about branding it with her own store name.

I wasn’t sure how that worked, but there are wholesale lingerie companies who will help with branding or private labeling. Basically, you can work with them in two ways.

You can help design the style of the line you want to carry, or you can pick from pre designed items such as bras and thongs or stockings. Either way, you get to put a tag in it that says your own business or store name.

I’m sure it isn’t cheap to do this but if you are really serious about making a name for yourself or for your brand, it is a great way to do it.

About three years ago, when my husband and I decided to go to Europe for a year, we decided that it would be best to sublet our apartment rather than leave it empty for a full year.  I was fine with the fact that somebody else would be living in our apartment but I wanted to move our furniture out and let them bring their own in.

We decided to put all of our furniture in self storage Philadelphia and that way it would be there for us when we got home.  We had discussed selling and buying new stuff when we got back but most of it was pretty new and I really like the furniture and was unsure he be able to find something to my tastes in a year.

Ironically, the storage facility that we had chosen flooded while we were gone and all of the furniture was destroyed.  We would have been better off to just leave it in the apartment and rent out the apartment completely furnished.  Luckily though, I was able to find furniture that I liked may be even more than the stuff I had before.

I am very excited to be the proud owner of my very first house.  I bought a cute little character home that most people thought was in disrepair and I have decided to fix it up and make it all my own.  A lot of the work that has to be done is cosmetic, but I know I will have to buy replacement windows for the whole house before winter.

I decided that a may as well get started on this matter right away.  I contacted a window company to see if I could get a price quote on what it would cost to put in new windows in my whole house.  I knew it’d be tough financially, as I had just basically given all my money that I had saved up as a down payment on a house, but I knew it had to be done.

I had a big Illinois window company come out and measure all of my windows to give me the quote.  It was not near as bad as I thought it would be and make you little character home will soon have brand-new windows so that I can clearly see my new neighborhood and my lovely little yard.
