Information From Health Experts

by Luke Joiner

I used to read every article on health that came out, but lately I’ve given this up as a bad habit. Most people who know me would probably have said I was a health freak. You see, staying fit and healthy after being as grossly overweight as I was is understandable but if you are not careful you exchange one obsession with another.

Any articles on health I could find to help with my fitness, diet, supplements to help prolong life, I would read them. But nowadays, when I read an article on health, it just fills me up with anxiety, After all, one article on health will say one thing, another day and another article says something else. Take soy for example, one group of scientists tell you it’s good for you then another group say don’t touch it because it promotes the development of female hormones in men amongst other side effects. I swear, all I want is to find the perfect diet, the perfect exercise routine, and the perfect lifestyle to keep myself as healthy as I can for as long as I possibly can.

You see it becomes very confusing when each and every article on health you read has a different answer to the same problem. Until recently, alcohol was thought of as bad for you, as were chocolate, and coffee. Now it turns out that wine is good for you, beer is good for you provided it is dark beer, chocolate is good for you if it is dark chocolate, and even coffee has been found to have some health benefits when used in moderation. Tomorrow, they will be saying that ice cream and cheesecake are the best options for creating a low cholesterol diet!

All that has come from this as far as I am concerned is a general disbelief of anything these so called health gurus say and I’ll look after myself than you very much. Of course it won’t stop me reading articles on health but in future I will decide how much of it I take notice of.

At the very best, articles on health can give me some health tips that will help me figure out how to exercise, and how to eat right, but the rest is just me listening to my body. Living a healthier life and being happier is what is really important to me so with a bit of luck I should be able to achieve this mostly on my own with very little help form experts.
